When confronted with thoughts, ideas or ‘brain fuzzies’ we are called to breathe. The form of The Artery takes the shape and body of the trachea or bronchi of our lungs.

Usually, when a person is anxious they take small and shallow breaths, thus disrupting the balance of gases and oxygen levels in the body. By controlling and regulating our breathing we are able to regulate levels of oxygen and gases being absorbed by our bodies which can only be done by the help of our lungs.

The Artery mimics this through its ‘slow glow’ feature - when touched from inside the external modules glow informing the external public of its use but also serving as the main circulatory route of the building. The staircase is subdued to allow the Artery to speak for itself providing a space for people to travel, touch and most importantly, breathe.

TAKE A BREATHER.
